Release notes
What changed in each version of the Blink KYC SDKs. Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native share one version number, and the Flutter and React Native packages run the native SDKs of the same version.
latest 1.0.13
released 15 October 2026
1.0.13
No API change: update the version and rebuild.
- Guidance where the customer looks. On the passport and ID card camera, the live instruction (fit the document in the frame, hold still, avoid reflections, move fingers away, turn the card) now shows in the white panel above the Capture button, in place of the fixed heading and tip. The status pill stays under the frame.
- Text no longer shown.
captureSheetDataPage, captureSheetFront, captureSheetBackandcaptureSheetBodyare not displayed any more. They remain inBlinkStrings, so apps that set them still build. See Customisation.
1.0.12
Released 14 October 2026. No API change. Install lines for the latest version are on the Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native pages.
Documents
- More Sudanese passports. Passports carrying the ICAO document codes
PP(the national passport issued from late 2026),PD,PO,PE,PS,PRandPMare read and accepted. Before, aPPpassport could not pass the machine-readable zone check. - Glare on the photo page. When a light reflection falls on the printed photo of the passport, the customer is asked to tilt it before the picture is used, at most twice.
Selfie
- A steady start. The selfie begins only once the customer's face has stayed in the oval, clear, for a moment, shown by a line closing round the oval. That first picture is a straight look.
- Calmer pacing. Each instruction stays on screen longer, and the pictures for head turns, nods, blinks, smiles and an open mouth are taken as the customer makes the movement.
- An uncovered face. No picture is taken while something is in front of the face: a hand, an object over the nose and mouth, or sunglasses. The customer sees “Keep your whole face uncovered” or “Take off your sunglasses”. Clear glasses are fine.
- The Capture button. On the selfie it appears only when the automatic capture cannot finish by itself, so a customer is never stuck.
For integrators
- App size. The native SDKs are about 3.5 MB larger on each platform. They include Google MediaPipe face models, licensed under Apache-2.0.
- New text. Two lines can be replaced with
BlinkStringson Android and iOS:faceCoveredPromptandfaceSunglassesPrompt. See Text & language. - Flutter on iOS. The plugin pins the native SDK's own dependencies to the exact versions it is
built with (
TensorFlowLiteSwift 2.17.0,NFCPassportReader 2.3.1), andpod installno longer downloads the native SDK again when it is already in place.
The device guides; Blink decides. These checks help the customer take good pictures. Your backend still reads the authoritative decision with the Result API.
